Behind The Zine

Zine - Hajj

In 2018, my wife and I were fortunate to perform Hajj, the Muslim pilgrimage. We spent 18 days in Makkah and Madinah (Saudi Arabia), and Hajj is a small collection of photos from that trip.

For those who may not be familiar with it, Hajj is a pilgrimage that Muslims are required to perform at least once in their lifetime, if they are able to do so. It is probably one of the largest annual gatherings in the world, bringing together people from many different countries, cultures, and backgrounds.

As pilgrims, our focus was on worship, reflection, and making lots of prayers. Because of that, I only took photos before and after the main days of Hajj. The last photo in the zine was taken at home, showing the Quran (the Muslim Holy Scripture) that I purchased in Madinah.
