#Zine 13 - Mumbai

Second time in Mumbai — but the first was ages ago, before I really shot street photography. This time felt like arriving fresh.
The city is inseparable, for me, from Slumdog Millionaire — comes to mind every time Mumbai is mentioned.
Time was short — I was here for a conference, photographing in the gaps. Serge, my photowalk companion of the last few years, joined for the walks. We only ever seem to cross paths at conferences, so this was a rare chance to shoot together properly.

Three stops made the trip: Marine Drive, full of local families in the evening light; Chor Bazaar, dense and chaotic in the best way; and the fishing village near Worli Fort.
What stayed with me most was the people. A quick greeting, a smile, and often — they’d ask me to take their photo. Shopkeepers, strangers, people happy to be seen. Some of my favourite frames are exactly that.
